Maui OceanCenter provides an up close and personal look at Hawaii’s diverse marine life without having to put your diving gear on! HaleakalaNational Park stretches from the rocky Kipahulu coastline up through rainforest and shrubland to the summit of the volcano. Much of the upper slopes, including the rainforest, are designated wilderness and protected by law. You have the option of hiking to the volcano or driving up, but keep your windows down because the area is enveloped with the healing scent of eucalyptus. Whichever way you plan to go, know that the view from the top is one you cannot afford to miss. If you can bear to get up before sunrise, prepare to experience a top-of-the-world breathtaking view above the clouds and be forever transformed. Remember to bring your camera.
